My experience was absolutely splendid at Hotel Sorella as I enjoyed my stay with a workout at Lifetime Fitness then enjoyed lunch at Hotel Sorella’s Bistro Alex where Chef Gonzales offered a thoughtful menu. I dared to be different with Orange Molasses Roasted Texas Quail ($24); and my friend tried Boudin Blanc Crusted Black Grouper with Five Mustard Sauce ($22), all of which fit with the chef’s philosophy of combining perfect execution of straightforward cooking methods with accents of bold flavors to let the freshness and quality of his ingredients shine through.
After a relaxing afternoon I headed to hang out at the Monalisa Bar, a stroll at one of CITYCENTRE’s many plazas and then dinner at Straits where my taste buds got an amazing kick with the Lychee Ginger drink, the Spinach “Meung Kum” Salad with spinach leaves, toasted coconut, lime, peanuts, prawns, and the tamarind dressing reminded me of South India.
Ended the night early with a movie at Studio Movie Grill as I had planned a brunch at Flora & Muse a first of its kind concept in Houston, the European-inspired bistro incorporates a patisserie, coffee bar, lounge and floral shop with both fast casual and full-service dining options from morning until late evening in a whimsical, neo-Victorian setting.
