A Tough Fight for District 26 and Houston goes Gaga for Fashion!

Never a dull moment in Houston! Just when Houston ladies got a good reason to get all dolled up as the Fashion Week Houston kicked off on Monday October 10, 2011, Sugarland political divas Sonal Bhuchar and Jacquie Baly Chaumette along with Rick Miller spoke about their potential as candidates for the Republican Primary in Texas House District 26.

The event was hosted by Indo American Political Action Committee with the intention to meet and greet the candidates. Sugarland residents are predicting this race to be one of the most competitive on the legislative battlefield next year.

Looking sharp and fashionable, Jacquie Baly Chaumette was dressed in a red fitted frock adorned with confidence and a great smile. It is most definitely a tough fight as Ms Bhuchar brings in her years of experience and warmth. Both are great friends to the Indo-American community and have offered their services for various charity organizations. Also joining the ladies is Rick Miller, former Chairman of the Republican Party of Fort Bend County, with a strong naval background.

It was a typical Indian affair with the aroma of samosas and chutney in the air as government officials, residents and political enthusiasts gathered at the Fort Bend Chamber of Sugarland to hear the candidates. Meanwhile the second Fashion Houston Week took off on Monday with great excitement for Houstonians as they got an opportunity not just to get dressed up but meet local and international designers. The show has been a huge success in attendance were Tamar Davis (Grammy nominated singer) and Miss Texas Brittany Booker were spotted.

Designers showcased so far were Jerri Moore, Project 360, Barbara Tfank, Douglas Hannant, Chole Dao, and Cesar Galindo. Now all that remains is to check out the closing and grand finale night of this fashionable event. Who wore what? An extravagant fashion scene!
