Pink Door Gala – Pink Masquerade In Paris

Pink Door Gala – Pink Masquerade In Paris

A Report By Ruchi Mukherjee

What a fun and inspiring way to masquerade the grief and turn it into something productive. This is the story of Cortney Cole. Losing a mother is never easy, neither was it for Cole who lost her mother Gayl Ann Gronauer Cole in 2005 over breast cancer. The incident shook her and gave her strength at the same time to create Pink Door. “From that moment, I realized it’s time to make a difference in women’s lives after cancer. Pink Door was created embracing the concept of giving women a new beginning after cancer,” says Cortney with pride. “Like my mother, no woman should have to worry about ‘affording recovery’. Instead, Pink Door now provides a way for women cancer survivors to ‘open a door to a whole new life’ by offering programs that benefit women in their lives after cancer,” informs Cole.

More than 250 people gathered in alluring evening gowns and fancy masquerades to enjoy the fifth Pink Door Annual Gala with the theme ‘Pink Masquerade In Paris’ at the Four Seasons Hotel, Downtown Houston on November 4, 2011.

The main highlight of the event was to raise funds for the worthy cause and a lot of effort was made on collecting exciting auction items with Live Auction Auctioneer KPRC Channel 2’s Robert Arnold. The Queens of Creativity Sculpture went for $5,000, a Sakowitz Fur went for $3,000, and a trip to Carmel for $2,500.

The event was emceed by ABC13 Anchor Sharron Melton with pianist Scott Graham setting the Paris mood on the piano. A charming evening with lovely ladies and a host of influential guests. Miss Texas USA 2012 Brittany Booker towered over with her beauty and style. Also making a mark, Texas State Representative Sarah Davis, Bellaire Councilman Corbett Daniel Parker, Jared Lang of Momentum Audi, Aries Milan of Coquette and Katy Kills Pretty, Elizabeth Wilson, the Survivor Honoree, Artist Hahn Tran, MOCAH Founder Reginald Adams, Kim Padgett, Miya Shay and many others.

Gala chairs David and Deborah LaRue did a fabulous job along with Pink Door founder Cortney Cole hosting a night of entertainment, glamor and charity. Undoubtedly a grand success!
