Indian Film Festival Kicks-off to celebrate 100 Years of Indian Cinema
Once again the red carpet was rolled out to kick-off the Indian Film Festival of Houston‘s fourth year at the very elite Marque Houston across from the Hotel Sorella in CityCentre. The event was hosted by Festival Director Sutapa Ghosh and her husband Atul Badwal for media and IFFH’s Board of Directors.
Socialites, movie lovers, prominent digntaries, and Consul Generals of various countries attended the glitzy soiree. Spotted at the event were: Carolyn Farb, businessman Robert Sakowitz, Houston Film Commission Executive Director Rick Fergusson, UH President Dr. Renu Khator and Indian Entertainment Promoter Moid Khan, Jose Grinan from FOX 26, Nava Fabrizio (Consul General of Italy), Dr. Bandula Wijay (Consul General of Sri Lanka), Dr. Mykletun Jostein (Consul General of Norway), Mr. Aronoff Phillip (honorary Consul General of Hungary), Sabrina Motley from Asia Society, and others.
The festival received over 80 entries which were sorted down to ten that will be screened at the Festival from October 3rd to October 7th at the Studio Movie Grill in CityCenter. The excitement was high as this year also marks 100 years of Indian cinema. As many film buffs are eagerly waiting for the festival, many party goers are looking forward to the Awards Gala Night on October 7th 2012 as plans are on full swing to spot the best Bollywood attire.
