Chai Time with the Kirans’
The Metro Cooking show in Houston not just showcased talents of some celebrity names like Paula Dean, Jacque Pepin and Giada De Laurentiis, this two-day event, hosted at the Reliant Center, showcased many local talents as well. A fun 30-minute session by Kirans Restaurant was hosted to expose the audience to delightful and unique ‘chai time‘ specialty foods and entertaining ideas.
This was Chef Kiran Verma‘s first time at the Metro Cooking Show and she was doing a demonstration called “Sari to Saffron” where she showed the audience how to tie a traditional Indian Sari and share her unique Masala Chai and biscotti, and saffron rice.
As part of our new Curry Digest Series, Lights Camera Action was on-hand as Kiran’s Restaurant showcased ‘Saris To Saffron’. We caught up with Chef Kiran after the show and asked about her thoughts on the Event and Indian food in Houston.
