Houstonians Walked the Red Carpet To Fight Against Cancer – A Gala Evening To Benefit The American Cancer Society

Oscar fever was in full swing on Sunday night as Houstonians gathered at the Heights Villa dressed up in flowy evening gowns and cocktails dresses for Houston’s Official Oscar Viewing Gala Party and help benefit The American Cancer Society. More than 200 people attended the party and enjoyed the thrills of the 85th Academy Awards amidst delicious food and plenty to drink. Ladies and gentlemen hovered around the photo booth that offered exciting backdrops.

oscar nightThe American Cancer Society combines a passion, with nearly a century of experience, to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, the organization fights for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Their goal is to save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join in the fight.

With the dedicated hard work of Gala Co-Chairs: Gina Toci Keith and Tiffany Johnson and numerous other volunteers, the Oscar Gala event generated about $40,000 and much excitement and as guests viewed the Academy Awards live on a large screen courtesy KTRK Channel 13. Guests also experienced the A list VIP treatment as paparazzi was in full swing. ABC 13’s Sonia Azad was spotted decked up like Salma Hayek, all perky and entertaining, as she emceed the evening and Lights Camera Action: Houston Society News spotted the Top Best Dressed that stood out at the Oscar party.

Spotted at this glamorous evening were: Miya Shay and Gene Wu, Brooke Mirabi and David Nguyen, Fred and Danielly Gordon, Chuck Brown, Craig McLemore and Eric Vaughn, and many others.

Houston Oscar Fashion – Lights Camera Action’s Best Dressed Moments:

  1. Ekaterina: This lady looked like she was at an Oscar Party. Look at her bold necklace!
  2. Tiffany Halik looked stunning in emerald green gown and her necklace from Anthroplogy was the center of attention.
  3. Hirra Khan wore a BCBG MAXAZARIA lime gown, hair flowing, most would mistake her for a celebrity.
  4. Sonia Azad got her hair and make up done by Yubi Escalona from Alira Spa and she looked Oscar perfect as she donned a black gown By Muzzie’s Formal Dresses.
  5. Corinne Cameron: One can never go wrong in red.
  6. Tiffany Johnson: Took a bold route with bright purple gown and chunky necklace and statement bracelets.

Overall it was a fun filled evening and Houston fashion bloggers have to agree that guests at this event out glamored the celebs on the red carpet at the 2013 Oscar Night!
