The Gatsby Soiree
All work and no play can make make you… dull! Houston Young Professionals founder Freddy Goerges and Fashion Houston hosted a roaring Gatsby themed soiree at the Eighteenth Cocktail Bar on Wednesday July 24, 2013 with plenty of busy bodies and styling divas. This was no ordinary run of the mill networking event, high rollers of the social scene were spotted mimicking the speakeasy era of the twenties.
The event was filled with surprises, lots of cocktails, light bites, and great ambiance with plenty of networking opportunities. “I love theme parties. What an interesting way to boost your regular work day,” says JD Adamson. “I think Freddy has done an excellent job with these professional mixers, we get good visibility and a chance to meet young professionals in various fields,” explains Tony Gibson. FYI both Tony and JD did an excellent job channeling the Gatsby era.
Who wore what? Gals and Gents seemed to have a great time playing dress up and this speaks a lot about Houston’s growing social scene. Cindy Smith bagged the “Best Dressed Gal” prize while it was no surprise that Rusty Long was chosen as the “Best Dressed Gent”. Bow ties, bowlers, layers of pearls and plenty of fascinating head gear made the event decadent and a roaring networking soiree. Plenty of fun leaving everyone talking about the party and most certainly signing up for the next happening HYP mixer.
Spotted having a good time: June B Xu, Lora Chivers, Vannath Duch, Jordan Newman, Bruce Forest, Sandeep Khandelwal, Tiffany Halik, Freddy Goerges, Jared Lang, Emily Maus, and many others.
