March of Dimes 10th Annual Labor Day Luncheon & Style Show
For a momentous tenth year, The Woman’s Hospital of Texas‘ hosted their largest fundraiser event to raise funds for the March of Dimes 10th Annual Labor Day Luncheon & Style Show, co-chaired by The Woman’s Hospital of Texas’ CEO Linda Russell and March of Dimes Guild Board member Michelle L. Smith, on Saturday August 24, 2013 at the Omni Houston Galleria Hotel.
KTRK ABC 13 News Anchor Miya Shay emceed the Emerald City themed event, showcasing Holly Thompson’s famous style seminar and Todd Ramos’ vibrant fashion show. As always the highlight of this luncheon was the boutique shopping experience at the lobby and style presentation. The excitement continued with the captivating runway fashion show – showcasing the wide spectrum of Fall colors that we are eagerly waiting to know. Guests had a fabulous time strolling down the Boutique Bazaar, a pop-up market featuring “little pretties”, from more than two dozen of Houston’s trendiest stores. Some of the vendors included French Cuff Boutique, BB1 Classic, FTA Jewelry Design, Betty Audish Exotic Handbags, Hello-Lucky, Macy’s, Stella & Dot, A Little Eye Candy, Jewel Kade, Pickles & Ice-Cream, Sarah Stewart, and many others.
Ten percent of the proceeds from purchased items benefited the March of Dimes New Born Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Family Support Program at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, which supports families who have a baby hospitalized in the NICU.
Fashion was in full swing at this sold out charity luncheon. The room was bustling with stylish women mixing, mingling and sharing fashion tips and secrets. The runway showed Fall favorite colors like red, deep maroon, shades of bright blue with colorful furs and hot pink. Our favorite boutique at the lobby was FTA Jewelry Design by Fariba Almassi. The Best Dressed Diva was Karina Barbieri in Mary Katrantzou. Overall a fun filled afternoon supporting a wonderful cause with plenty of style.
