13th Annual Fundraiser Celebrates Fashion, Philanthropy and Women’s Career Achievements
More than 400 business women with a flair for fashion and philanthropy joined together to celebrate Dress for Success Houston’s 13th Annual A Night Out hosted by Gardere at the Omini Hotel Houston. Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP sponsored the event for its ninth year, and Rachel Powitzky Steely, a Labor and Employment partner at the firm and member of DFSH’s Corporate Guild, chaired the event.
professional development programs to support more than 7,000 Houston-area women
The highlights of the evening was dinner, a fashion show, boutique shopping, surprise bags, and a raffle, with a fabulous style presentation full of need-to-know fashion tips and trends by local image consultants Cathy Fitzpatrick Cleary and Holly Thompson. KTRK ABC Channel 13 Anchor Sharron Melton was the emcee for this annual event for approximately 500 attendees, including influential community leaders and top-level female executives.
Proceeds from A Night Out, which totaled approximately $111,000, will enable Dress for Success Houston to purchase 500 suits to outfit economically disadvantaged women with professional attire and confidence during the interview process, while also funding professional development programs to support more than 7,000 Houston-area women.
