Houston’s Oscar Moment – Asia Society Tiger Ball

Houston’s Oscar Moment – Asia Society Tiger Ball

Texan designers Nhã Khanh and Simran Rihal ruled the red carpet on Thursday evening at the 2014 Asian Society Texas Center Tiger Ball. Pink was certainly dominating the red carpet scene although we did see plenty of color at Asia Society Texas Center while they celebrated Japan at its annual gala.

About 650 guests were seated at the Asia Society Texas Center designed by Japanese architect Yoshio Taniguchi, celebrating Houston’s rich diverse culture. Houston’s social scene is on the rise and galas are getting popular amongst young professionals. Global leaders, philanthropists, Consul Generals, media personalities, and Japanese Ambassador to the United States Kenichiro Sasae, were some of the noted dignitaries.

This sell out gala event was chaired by Donna Cole and Glen Gondo raising $840,000. Maintaining Asian culture both Asia Society’s new executive director Bonna Kol and deputy director John Bradshaw Jr., who has been on the board since the center’s opening were at the center’s entrance warmly welcoming guests and making them feel like family.
