DJ Kalkutta Spicing Up Spotlight Asia – Cocktails and Cultural Fusions

Spring time is here and that means Houston gets a kick start to its host of fabulous events. Asia Society Texas Center lit up the night again with their third annual Spotlight Asia: Cocktails and Cultural Fusions, with event chairs Janae and Kenneth Tsai, in collaboration with Zulu Creative.

The Tiger Ball was hosted on February 27, 2014, while Spotlight Asia is a fun way to draw young professionals towards cultural activities happening in the 4th largest city with a very rich diverse community. The evening was filled with glamor, colorful ethnic outfits, and also featured New York-based turntablist and producer DJ Kalkutta, who was back by popular demand. Also casting a mesmerizing musical glow on the dance floor was Vietnamese-American Houston-based Baohaus.

Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar along with their signature appetizers, Texas Hookah Lounge, FlashBox photo booth, and sushi by Uchi Restaurant kept this party going. Decadent luxuries provided by Monica Pope’s Sparrow Bar + Cookshop captured the essence of the season.

Dazzling the party scene were: Toni Tate, Paresh Patel, Zeenat and Iqbal Mitta, Chris and Divya Brown, June B.Xu, Bonna Kol, Tina Zulu, Y. Ping Sun, Dr. Veena Chandrakar, Farida Abjani, Rosemin Premji, Henry Wu, Shara Tsai, Charles Foster, and many others.
