Hosted at the Hotel Zaza, the Foundation welcomed celebrity guests such as guest speaker, NFL Legend and Hall of Famer, Marshall Faulk, in addition to 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist, Chad Hedrick, local Houstonian, to kick off the evening’s festivities. The evening was graced with KHOU-11 Media personalities such as Chita Johnson & Matt Musil. Among the local athletes were Devard Darling, Desean Polk, Grant Irons, Takeo Spikes, and James Farrior.
The Foundation, started by Tamara & Moran Norris is in it’s 8th year of serving Houston with such programs as the Shopping for Good Character program hosted by Target, the “Follow Me” Scholarship Program, and the Sports & Agility Camp hosted by Moran himself.
Shopping for Good Character is only one of the many arms of the Foundation. The Foundation’s main goal is to raise money for under-served, at-risk, students attending schools such as Marshall Middle School, McReynolds Middle School, Hartman Middle School, and Dowling Middle School and giving back to Houston.
This year, the Foundation was able to award students with scholarships to attend accredited universities, and the monies were presented to these students at the Fundraiser on Saturday, June 28th, 2014.
