Pretty In Pink At Josephine’s Day Spa and Salon

October marks as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Vivian Yeh owner of Josephine’s Day Spa has been going way out of her way to raise awareness and funds for this noble cause. On Saturday, October 25th, 2014, Josephine’s Day Spa and Salon hosted its Pretty in Pink Gala for the 6th consecutive year. The event took place in the evening at their Eldridge location in the Energy Corridor.

Josephine’s Pretty in Pink Gala was organized for the first time by the salon’s owner, Vivian Yeh, in 2009 to raise awareness for breast cancer and contribute funds to the research on breast cancer. It has since been held every year to bring more awareness on the disease and continue Josephine’s involvement with giving back to the community.

Pretty In Pink At Josephine's Day Spa and Salon (1)This year, Josephine’s Day Spa partnered with Carmelo’s Italian Restaurant, BMW and the Houston Texans Cheerleaders in organizing the gala. The event was filled with entertainment, appetizers, desserts, cocktails, raffle and dancing. Each ticket purchased included 2 raffle tickets with additional raffle tickets available for purchase. The raffle included prizes from Josephine’s, Carmelo’s, BMW, Memorial Hermann, Holiday Inn, the Pine Forest Country Club, Macy’s, Food & Vine Time Productions, Neil Corp, Stella and Dot, Kendra Scott, Union Kitchen, Cupcakes and the Tasting Room. Along with the raffle prizes, Carmelo’s provided the appetizers, and BMW provided gift bags for each attendee.

The Gala brought in a total of $2,502.45 including donations throughout the month of October at each Josephine’s location, a pink lemonade stand and the Aveda’s Treasured Wax Candles. In addition, as in previous years, $4 from every purchase of Aveda Limited Edition Hand Relief moisturizing cream sold was donated to the Breast Cancer Research.

“The support from our guests and partners was tremendous! This year’s Gala was yet another success,” said Vivian Yeh, owner of Josephine’s.

The donations will be used towards purchasing additional prosthesis and prosthetic bras for patients. Each patient receives 2 bras with their prosthesis. The Oncology Center, through the Greater Houston Breast Prosthesis Program at Memorial City helps under insured and uninsured patients whereby insurance does not cover the cost of their prosthesis and prosthetic bras. Josephine’s donated locally this year in order to support the Greater Houston Area community, and help those in the area affected with breast cancer.

Join Josephine’s in 2015 for their 7th annual Pretty in Pink Gala as they continue to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
